DESIGN THINKING AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP: A REVIEW IN THE CONTEXT OF THE BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT

Design thinking is a paradigm that involves a framework to analyze the environment, identify the root cause, and solve the problem. This paper proposes to design thinking can be aligned with entrepreneurial activities and management. It includes the problem framing and problem-solving approach to run a course of business activity effectively and efficiently. The main purpose of this paper is to synthesize the objectives of the research (a) to understand the implications of design thinking on entrepreneurship and the business environment, (b) to understand the synergy between entrepreneurship and design thinking (c) to evaluate the core issues of the business environment through design thinking model. The study has added knowledge to the existing literature on design thinking in entrepreneurship by explaining the theoretical framework to identify, characterize, frame, and evaluate the drivers of the problem in an organization.
Practical implication: The study suggests entrepreneurs should address the problems as they function under the dynamic nature of the environment. The business environment is highly uncertain and involves high risk with each step forward in business activities and utilizing design thinking in a non-linear business environment gives a practical proposition to solve the problem or generate new ideas. Highlighting the creative mindset of the entrepreneur to have a structured process to solve complications faced by the business.
